A champion for a better future in Acadie–Annapolis

Ronnie Leblanc is a fisherman from Meteghan and a proud son of Baie Sainte-Marie. He was first elected to the Municipal Council of Clare in 2000, serving as Deputy Warden in 2008 and later as Warden in 2012, a position he held until 2021.

In August 2021, Ronnie was elected as the MLA for Clare, proudly representing his community at the provincial level until November 2024. During his time in office, he remained dedicated to rural economic development, healthcare, and infrastructure improvements, including expanding high-speed internet access.

Throughout his 25 years in public service, Ronnie has demonstrated strong leadership, vision, and integrity. He was instrumental in establishing the Clare Health Centre (Centre Médical Dr. Lionel d’Entremont) and developing an innovative doctor recruitment and retention strategy. He served as Chair of the Municipality’s Doctor Recruiting and Retention Committee.

Ronnie also served as Vice-President of the Board of Governors at Université Sainte-Anne and Vice-Chair of the Conseil de développement économique de la Nouvelle-Écosse.

He lives in Meteghan with his wife, Tina, who worked in healthcare. His daughter, Mattea, has now fulfilled her dream of becoming a schoolteacher. Ronnie remains deeply committed to public service and will bring that experience and passion to representing the constituents of Acadie-Annapolis.
